Aspects of Colour is the Website for abstract artist Sheila Thorne. Sheila is based in Devon and has been painting, selling and exhibiting her work for over 20 years. Born and Educated in Ealing, Sheila trained at Ealing School of Art and worked as an art teacher until moving to Devon. Classically trained, her interest in colour and abstract expressionism began in the early 90's. Of her paintings Sheila says:
"As an artist I am compelled to be creative and have always considered creativity to relate to experiment and risk. These are compulsions which can only develop through individual practice. In the abstract they represent a way forwward and have endless possiblities. Through them I can use intuition of sensitivity and the sub conscious. I am able to pursue spontaneous gesture, stillness, contrasts, line and texture; space worked to its utmost. I like to experiment and take risks within the way I work so all the paintings are made as free expressions of abstraction"
